Eltham

Eltham Project
Our clients traditional style home is tucked away in the quiet neighbourhood of Eltham. The home possesses several beautiful design elements ensuring the homes materials deliver a sensory experience which are both visual and tactile.

MAIN BATHROOM

Client Brief
Originally this bathroom was the children’s bathroom with a very small shower recess which our client felt was both too small and a poor use of space. The shower needed to be large with a frameless shower screen to enclose the shower area. The claw foot bath was to be reused however the gold bath feet and waste needed to be black to be in keeping with the new bathroom rest fittings. All three bathrooms are being redesigned with a cohesive cabinetry style.

Design Statement
The main bathrooms alcove provided the designer with the perfect spot to create a generous walk-in shower recess. A Corian inset was constructed to provide a long niche for maximum shower storage to enable shampoo and conditioner bottles to be stored off the bathroom floor.
Recognising the importance of sight lines designer Michelle ensured the shower recess was enclosed with a custom made black frameless sliding shower screen the same height as the top of the bathroom window.
Small details often overlooked but easily spotted later were Troy’s domain. Troy worked with the tiler to create perfect tile layout. The gold feet and plug and waste were removed from the bath and sent off to be plated black. The lighting inside the Corian niche was set at a particular height to create mood lighting in the bathroom but not as to get in your eyes when you soak in the bath.
