Apartment Renovation – Main Bathroom

East Melbourne

APARTMENT RENOVATION

Travel through the 1930’s carriage way to be welcomed into a well-designed apartment complex. East Melbourne’s homes ooze character and this apartment is no exception with generous room sizes and plenty of light.

Client brief
Client requested the entire apartment be fully renovated. The spec was to incorporate luxury finishes that included laying American Oak solid timber flooring, replacing cabinetry including wardrobes. Installing new plantation shutters, painting and lighting. The kitchen was to have a face lift but the bathroom was to be completely redesigned to solve the cramped floor plan.

Design Statement.
The built-in shower over bath was removed and changed into a walk-in shower recess screened off with floor to ceiling frameless glass panels.
The washing machine was removed from the bathroom which enabled the floor space to be opened-up and allowed for the toilet to be moved to beside the shower recess. Relocating the toilet position was made possible due to the apartment being on the first floor above the garage area and all the plumbing going through the bathroom floor to the garage underneath.
Storage issues were solved with a large, mirrored cabinet with a display area for perfume bottles on the right-hand side of the cabinet.
A double draw wall mounted vanity with a Corian bench top and moulded inset basin provided clean lines and maximum storage for personal belongings.
To keep the lighting soft when not needing task lighting a pendant light was installed on the left hand-side of the vanity.

American Oak solid timber flooring was installed throughout the apartment. The entire apartment was repainted in Lovenote by Dulux, new cabinetry, plantation shutters and a new lighting plan was completed. Beautiful pendant lighting from Monoluce Lighting complimented our newly renovated spaces
With all the little details in this apartment our client couldn’t help but feel very spoilt.
